How do you light the bonfire? I got the lighter from the van and sticks and leaves, so unless I was missing something else, I think I had all I needed.
Game has potential and I always appreciate when a Developer goes the extra mile to have hand drawn graphics and sprites, but it might need to guide the player a little more. I can tell it's trying to really give the feeling of a survival situation, so making a wrong move should have consequences; but without a means of saving and how an insta-death event can just suddenly occur without explanation, right now it seems more luck based than anything. An example would be the Cougars jumping out and killing you, which I assume was because I was out too late but I can't be sure. Some small hints such as the MC commenting once that they should stay in the tree line or suggest finding water at a certain part of the day hints to the player where they should be heading, without holding their hand too much.
Just a few thoughts. As I mentioned, this game seems like it could be really fun once hashed out a bit more. Keep up the good work!

As for the bonfire, since you mention the necessary items, it is likely that you are missing the correct amount.
Some deaths happen without any explanation, others happen according to some previous events or situations.
I have been a video game player for a long time, and I really like discovering what the game has, it has a few hints, it is created this way to recreate the feeling that you are really alone, and that "you" yourself decide what to do.
However, later here on the page I plan to publish some hints for those who are blocked.
